The thought of doing a boudoir session can absolutely be a scary one. I mean, on the surface, you are going to be stripping down in front of a stranger with a camera. And while I definitely am a strange one, there is so much more than just THAT! It’s an entire experience where you’re made to feel like the badass, beautiful person you are.

But I’m getting carried away! Let’s get into our top 12 FAQs that our clients ask before they book with us to give you some insight into a boudoir session with Hype girl!

Do you share my images?

Not unless you give us expressed, enthusiastic, and written permission! My #1 priority is that you are comfortable and safe with me and in our studio. Boudoir can be a life changing and empowering experience, but that also makes it nerve wracking too! Sometimes, we have women who are just learning to accept their bodies and aren’t quite ready to share their images with the world. AND THAT IS OKAY! If you do decide that you would like your photos to be shared, we have a specific contract for you to sign. But if not, your photos will stay 100% private unless you share them yourselves!

Do I have to wear lingerie?

Absolutely NOT! While lingerie is beautiful, there are so many other outfit options that will hilight your body and make you feel just as stunning. Do you offer payment plans?

Yes, absolutely! For your session, you will have the option to book with a 50% retainer and the remainder will be due the week before your big day. For products, we accept PayPal Credit and offer in-house payment plans! These payment plans are incredibly customizable and we can break it down however you would like. A few rules- the plan can’t extend more than 12 months, we require a 10% down payment to kick it off, and after a payment is 5+ days late we add a $25 late fee. You can also start your payment plan BEFORE your session, meaning you won’t have to wait long at all for your products!

Is hair and makeup included?

OF COURSE! I truly believe that it’s so important for you to feel pampered and beautiful on your session day, and our team of professional and experienced hair and makeup artists are *chefs kiss* incredible. You can bring screenshots or ideas you love, or let them paint you like a canvas and be surprised with your end result!

Do you photoshop my images?

I do edit your photos a bit- mainly to make sure that the photos are properly exposed, the coloring is correct, and straightening the images themself (because you know ya girl shoots crooked). I do also do a FEW skin edits like color blending and removing things that are not permanent like scratches, bruises, acne, things along those lines.

What I will NOT do is change your body or edit out anything that’s permanent. My goal with your boudoir session is for you to see yourself exactly as you are- as a beautiful, strong, and inspiring person who has gone through their life and is BLOOMING! If I change your body around, I turn it into something that’s not you. If there are parts of yourself that you still struggle with (we all have them, I promise) we will talk about it! There are tons of options with posing and outfits that can help distract from those parts without shying away from them.

Where should I buy outfits?

There are a few places I always recommend shopping from, depending on your size and style! What type of printed products do you offer?

TONS! Over the past decade, I’ve researched and tested out so many different distributors and creators to source the most luxurious and beautiful products for y’all to purchase. From stunning handcrafted albums, glass portrait boxes to showcase your favorites, wall art to decorate your home, or add-ons like RetroViewfinders and accordion albums to give an extra little somethin’ somethin’ to your order!

Do you offer digitals?

Of course! Almost every single one of our Collections include digitals (some even include your FULL gallery!), and you can also purchase them outside of a collection from our a-la-carte menu.

I’m freaking out! How do I calm my nerves?

The thought of a boudoir session can be scary, so the first step is to remember that those nerves are normal! I personally feel like they can even add to the experience- you start out nervous, but then slowly feel yourself getting more comfortable and confident. And THEN, seeing that transformation in your photos is so incredible!

That being said, a great way to help calm your nerves is to read some of our client testimonial/experience blogs. These blogs are from the POV of real people who have done sessions with us, and they can give you a unique, real-life insight to what sessions are really like!

How many outfits should I bring?

Sessions include 3-4 different looks (nude counts as a look!), BUT! Our client closet has an insane amount of gorgeous pieces, ranging from sizes XXS-6XL and even some robes and jewelry pieces that can fit universally! We do recommend bringing to your session a few outfits that you’ve tried on and know you love how they look, though. If you only use client closet pieces and don’t touch what you bring, that is perfectly okay! If you ONLY use what you brought and don’t even look at the client closet, also okay! We just like you to have backup options that you’re familiar and comfortable with, just in case.

Should I get to my session early?

You are welcome to come a bit early, but we usually recommend no earlier than 10 minutes! Our hair and makeup artists set up insanely quick, so we’re usually not at the studio more than 15 minutes ahead of time. So if you arrive any earlier than that, you may need to hang out outside until one of us gets there!

Where is you studio located?

Although we have hopped around a bit over the past few years, we have officially found our PERFECT home in northside Jacksonville, FL! Less than 10 minutes from the JAX airport, we are now in a historic old home that we’ve transformed into a haven for self expression and acceptance.
