Does a Couples Boudoir Session Cost More?

One of the first questions that often comes up is whether adding your partner to the session increases the cost. The simple answer is, not really! The cost only increases if both you and your partner want professional hair and makeup done. If just one of you is getting the glam treatment, it’s already covered by your session fee. But if your partner wants to join in on the pampering, you can add on professional hair and makeup for an additional cost!

Whether you both choose to get hair and makeup done or just one of you, the session is designed to be a shared, intimate experience, so it’s worth discussing with your partner how you both want to look and feel going into the session.

Do We Have to Get Naked?

One of the most common misconceptions about boudoir sessions—whether solo or couples—is that nudity is required. That couldn’t be further from the truth! You never have to show more than what you’re comfortable with. Sensual, beautiful photos can be created while fully clothed, and honestly, one of my favorite “outfits” is to have one person clothed in dress pants and nice shirt, and the other one of our dramatic tulle robes. There’s something incredibly sexy about showing just enough to leave a little mystery while keeping the focus on the connection between you and your partner, creating a romantic and sensual environment.

If you’re more comfortable staying partially clothed or fully dressed, that’s absolutely fine. The key is to create photos that make you feel sexy, confident, and empowered, whatever that looks like for you. Our one rule though is that we do not photograph full male nudity!

What Should We Wear?

Great question! What you wear really depends on the vibe you’re going for. Just like with a solo boudoir session, we help you plan outfits based on the style and tone you want to capture.

For something cozy and casual, we might suggest sweatpants, t-shirts, or cute matching sets. Imagine a Sunday morning at home kind of vibe—relaxed, playful, and intimate. If you want to turn up the romance, think along the lines of dress pants and a nice shirt paired with lingerie, dramatic robes, or sheer fabrics that create a look straight out of a romance novel.

Remember, the feminine outfit often sets the tone for the session, so we encourage you to think about the story you want your photos to tell. While we don’t have any masculine clothing in our client closet, we do have plenty of options for feminine lingerie, from delicate lace sets to bold and sexy pieces in sizes XXS to 6XL.

How Does Posing Work for Couples?

One thing we hear from couples is, “How will we know how to pose?” Don’t worry—posing is our specialty! Just like in solo sessions, we’ll pose both of you from head to toe. It might take a little longer to get into the right position since we’re working with two people, but we’ll make sure you look incredible and connected in every shot.

We’ll guide you into natural, intimate poses that showcase the chemistry between you and your partner. From playful interactions to more intense, passionate moments, we’ll help you find the perfect balance. Some of the most requested poses from past couples sessions include the Laying Down Cuddle, where one partner cuddles into the other’s side, and the Hug from Behind, which can be done standing or kneeling for a cozy, intimate feel.

Can I Still Get Some Photos By Myself?

Absolutely! Even though this is a couples session, we can still take time for individual portraits. The session includes at least three outfits or sets in the studio, so we can easily split it up. If you’ve ever thought about doing a solo boudoir session but wanted to experience it with your partner first, this is a great way to get the best of both worlds.

We’ve photographed plenty of women in the boudoir setting, but recently we also did our very first session where one partner (Mr. N) had a whole solo set! Whether you want to show off your individual confidence or create a more diverse gallery of photos, we’re here to make sure the session reflects both you and your partner’s personalities and desires.

How Intimate Can We Get?

This is one of the most common questions we get! While boudoir photography is all about celebrating intimacy, we do have boundaries that separate boudoir from erotica. To be blunt, we won’t be photographing any penetration or explicit stimulation. That being said, we can absolutely explore the world of the implied, and express different aspects of your relationship, even some kinkier ones, as long as they stay within our comfort zone of creating tasteful, intimate art. The key is capturing your chemistry while keeping the photos sensual, not explicit.

How Is a Couples Session Different From a Regular Solo Session?

A couples boudoir session isn’t all that different from a solo one! Hair and makeup for one partner is still included, you have access to our client closet, and the session still includes the same number of sets and bonuses, as well as our same-day reveal. The big difference? You get to share the experience with your partner.

Having your person there adds a whole new layer of fun, comfort, and intimacy. You get to experience the same empowering, confidence-boosting session with the added bonus of your partner by your side. We’ll still pose you from head to toe, and you’ll still have a same-day reveal to see your gorgeous photos together.
